Biography

She studied at the Beato Angélico School of Art in Buenos Aires, Argentina, specialising in painting, chalcographic engraving in Madrid workshops and artistic and advertising photography at Ricardo Arias’ studio. She has exhibited since 1994 in galleries and fairs in Spain, other European countries, and the United States. She was nominated and awarded in different painting and engraving contests, her work is exhibited in museums, public institutions, and private collections. Lidia Buente expresses her particular vision of life through stain and colour, with abundant graphisms. Gestural painting where lights and shadows alternate sometimes with photographic images that create a counterpoint with the stain accompanying the reading of the work.
