Biography
- She has an extensive education in Plastic Arts, especially in engraving and painting, and completed her academic education as a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Castilla-La Mancha University, Cuenca, Spain, in 1996. She was awarded a scholarship by the AECI (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional) in Florianópolis, Brazil, that same year, combining teaching and research work in the field of Plastic Arts while beginning to work on her own projects and works. She completed her PhD studies in Havana, Cuba, between 1996 and 1999, which influenced the colouristic and vivid character of her work. In 1998, she moved to Madrid, where she resides and develops her work. Her passion for engraving is remarkable, which she considers an evolving art form, exploring new means to enrich this technique and always with her eyes on the environment, introducing the use of non-toxic products in her works. She has held a large number of solo and group exhibitions, both in Spanish galleries with which she works regularly and in different foreign cities such as Shanghai and Amsterdam. Her participation in ArtMadrid and ESTAMPA art fairs is also noteworthy. Her work is mainly focused on painting, engraving, and sculpture, and occasionally on other parallel fields such as design and illustration.
